ROMANTIC STYLE WEDDING FOR LIANA AND JEREMY
Jeff and Liana were such a delight to work with. They both wished to incorporate a woodsy, natural theme into their reception flowers since their venue was the wonderful Diamond Alumni Club at Simon Fraser University. This room provides such a warm ambiance with lots of wood beams and a large fireplace. As well, the view from the deck overlooks woods and water. Liana also wanted to have a soft romantic feel for her bouquet and for the bridal party bouquets. Together, we came up with a perfect selection of flowers and designs that merged all of these elements and feelings. For the Bride's bouquet we used large garden roses, peonies, freesia, and spray roses in shades of blush, peach, pink and white, while the bridal party bouquets were designed using the same flower varieties but in all shades of creams and whites. The bouquets contrasted and coordinated beautifully against the Bride's, stunning ivory dress and the bridal party's blush coloured dresses. The Groom's boutonniere was a garden rose with freesia accent while the Best Man and Groomsmens' boutonnieres were freesia. Both the bouquets and the boutonnieres had a vintage-look lace ribbon wrap on the stems with a rope twine wrap accent. This rope twine detail coordinated with other elements of the wedding, including the invitations. The reception centre pieces were created inside tall, clear glass cylinder vase. These arrangements contained very natural elements, including a layer of moss, a moss and lichen covered branch and a small fern plant. Showcased within the vases, along with the moss and fern plant, were two gorgeous roses and a freesia stem, illuminated with an battery operated light hidden in the moss. We were thrilled with the results of our collaboration with Jeff and Liana and are so grateful to have been a part of this amazing wedding!
